The El Jardín farm was acquired in 1986 by Rosa Inés Rubio, a single mother who saw a future in coffee growing for her two children. Despite all the crises in the coffee sector, she managed to provide for her children with the small farm El Jardín (The Garden in Spanish). In 2017 the young Luis Fernando, Rosa Inés' youngest son, took over the farm, with a clear vision for a promising future for his family. Today, Luis Fernando is focused on the world of specialty coffee, taking radical steps to change the farm, from the agronomic part to fermentations, looking for a balance between sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture, as well as adding value through fermentations, implementing new techniques to exploit the characteristics endemic to the area of Dipilto.
